What’s the Difference Between en Bloc Implant Removal and Standard Implant Removal?
The doctors at Vincent Surgical Arts typically perform what is referred to as anĀ en bloc implant removal. To understand the difference between anĀ en bloc implant removalĀ and a standardĀ breast implant removal, we need to understand what a tissue capsule is. The capsule is soft scar tissue that forms around a breast implant after the initial augmentation surgery. Generally the capsule is undetectable, however, sometimes it forms into hard scar tissue leading to discomfort and aching. AnĀ en bloc implant removalĀ surgery removes the breast implant and the tissue capsule at the same time. A standard implant removal simply removes the breast implant and is not concerned with removing the capsule.
